Our mission is to provide a safe environment for all team members, visitors, communities, and Nexus members.  Safety is considered a top priority and equal in importance to production and quality.  Nexus initiatives are to prevent injuries and illnesses by establishing a positive world class safety culture.  Our successful safety culture is dependent upon the support of all Nexus team members.  We work together towards continuous improvement of our safety program with the goal of zero incidents.

One of the most effective ways to reduce unnecessary and costly repairs and to ensure a safe and healthy work environment is to routinely clean, inspect, and maintain the facilities, pieces of equipment, processes, and vehicles which are utilized in the various operations inherent to the company.  Preventive maintenance refers to the regular inspection, lubrication, maintenance, and repair of equipment to keep the facility running efficiently and safely.  The procedures Nexus utilize reflect the requirements of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s grain handling facilities standard, which applies to grain elevators, feed mills and processing plants.
