Feed Operations Associate-2nd Shift

Location: Elgin Iowa

Reporting to the Location Manager/Mill Manager, the Feed Operations Associate is a Non Exempt position.

The Feed Operations Associate provides assistance to the Mill Operator while performing tasks to advance the effectiveness and efficiency of the feed production system. Will perform duties associated with grain within the facility in accordance with safety policies and procedures. This position will also ensure the manufacturing, packaging and loading of animal feed operating a variety of heavy industrial equipment.

Operations

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for loading delivery trucks and staging delivery order for the following morning.
  • Monitoring and filling the micro system and assisting the Mill Operator with mixing of feed.
  • Managing the feed warehouse products and using a forklift.
  • Maintains a clean or organized working environment by performing housekeeping activities.
  • Complying with OSHA Safety and Health rules
  • Grain handling including but not limited to filling, reclaiming, and transferring grain.
  • Performing other work-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Two or more years of related experience in production facilities.
  • Has or must be willing to obtain a CDL

  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to climb, bend, stretch, kneel, squat, push/pull, climb, and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and explosives.
  • May require work in areas where ear and / or eye protection is necessary.
  • Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
  • The Employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
