Credit Manager will be responsible for the overall credit-granting process within Nexus Cooperative. This role will optimize company sales and reduce bad accounts by maintaining the NEXUS credit policies. The Credit Manager will assess potential customers’ creditworthiness and conduct periodic reviews of current Nexus customers. The Credit Manager will review and update the company’s credit policy and monitor payments and bad accounts. This role will also maintain records of company Notes Receivables, working with the CFO and Controllers.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Help establish and maintain NEXUS credit policies and procedures.
  • Set-up and maintain new customer accounts and credit levels based upon NEXUS credit policy.
  • Evaluate ongoing customers’ accounts creditworthiness as per NEXUS credit policy.
  • Review of company terms and conditions to ensure they follow NEXUS credit policy and are consistent within the organization.
  • Due diligence related to risk management of NEXUS receivables and credit levels given to customers.
  • Customer interaction, including calls, emails, meetings, and sales team interactions.
  • Responsible for consistent application of policy and any co-guaranty with third party customer financing institutions.
  • Compile, enter, and monitor information pursuant to direct reporting process.
  • Monthly review of bad debts and assistance with bad debt provision analysis.
  • Participate in committees or workstreams as needed to represent the credit function.
  • Analysis of guarantors as needed to support credit underwriting.
  • Correspond and report appropriate information to various teams.
  • Analysis in adherence with established credit review procedures and regulatory guidelines.
  • Assist in the legal, demand letter and as needed court appearances related to collections.
  • Support the delivery of internal and external audit requirements.
  • Help design and maintain NEXUS branded customer financing options.
  • Collaborate with outside customer financing institutions.
  • Monitor balances due for each customer within an assigned portfolio.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, peers, and team members.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams to cohesively manage business operations and deliver value.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to ensure that our talent development programs remain relevant and effective.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency gains.
  • Perform other duties as required

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Graduate’s Degree in accounting, business, or computer science; or related fields and/or proven work experience as credit manager.
  • Experience with SQL, AS/400, and R Language software and systems.
  • Experience with billing systems and enterprise resource planning.
  • Fluency in billing systems and general ledger.
